Functional Family Therapy (FFT)

Functional Family Therapy is an evidenced based program which provided family therapy to at-risk youth and their families.  FFT focuses on increasing protective factors and reducing risk factors for adolescents leading to involvement in the legal system.  The skills taught in family therapy sessions are anger management/coping, communication, emotional support, parenting, problem solving, conflict management, healthy boundary setting, etc.

 

Target population is adolescent youth ages 10- 17 and at least one family member. 


Who would benefit from services: Adolescents and their families. Parents who have adolescents with the following mental health and behavioral concerns: on,

  • family relational issues                                                         

  • child-parent conflict and family stress

  • angry outbursts and irritable mood

  • concerns with school behaviors and academic performance

  • oppositional, defiant, non-compliant and disruptive behaviors

  • depression, anxiety, suicide/self harm issues                                                              

 

Qualifying criteria and payment/insurance: Must have active MediCal coverage to receive services.                           

How services are provided: Services are provided in the family's home, in community spaces or on-site at our main office. Telehealth services are also an option provided.                                                                       

Who provides the services: Licensed therapists and associate therapists registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Hours of Operation - Monday - Thursday 8 am - 6 pm and Friday 8 am - 5 pm  Evening appointments are available by request only.
