Student Assistance Program

Supporting students where they are - at school, every day

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) provides on-campus counseling services to help students manage emotional, behavioral, and family-related challenges that may be affecting their success in school.
We work directly with students during the school day, making it easier to access support in a familiar and comfortable environment.
How We Help Students
School can be overwhelming when a child is dealing with stress, anxiety, or challenges at home. Our board-certified SAP Therapists help students work through challanging life circumstances and build the skills they need to feel more confident, focused, and supported.
Students may benefit from SAP services if they are experiencing:

Difficulty focusing or staying engaged in class
Behavioral challenges or frequent discipline issues
Stress, anxiety, or overwhelming emotions
Family changes or challenges at home
Trouble getting along with peers or adults

Our goal is to help students develop healthy coping skills so they can succeed both academically and emotionally.
Who Can Receive Services
SAP services are available to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade
who are enrolled in schools that partner directly with Comprehensive Youth Services
If your child’s school participates, services are easily accessible right on campus.
A student or a parent can get counseling services started by simply asking a school staff member or teacher for a referral to a SAP counselor.

What Services Look Like
Individual counseling sessions during the school day at times that work best for the student
Support tailored to each student’s unique circumstances
Collaboration with school staff when appropriate
A safe and supportive space for students to get the help they need
Services are provided by licensed therapists and associate therapists registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, all trained in working with children and adolescents.
Cost to Families
There is no cost to families for students attending participating schools. Services are fully covered through school partnerships with Comprehensive Youth Services.

Helping Students Thrive
All services are provided during school hours, with schedules coordinated based on each school site so students can get the help they need without missing out on their education.

Every student deserves the opportunity to feel supported, understood, and capable of success. Our SAP counselors are here to help students navigate challenges, build resilience, and thrive - both in and out of the classroom.
