Counseling Services

Sometimes it can be
hard to cope with all of the changes that happen in childhood, the
teen years, and even adulthood. Sometimes bad things happen that make it
especially difficult to cope. If you and/or your family are having trouble
dealing with certain situations or emotions, you might find counseling to be a
helpful way of sorting things out. Comprehensive Youth Services provides
individual, family, and group counseling, depending on your (or your family's)
individual needs.
Our counselors are specially trained to help
you sort through the difficult feelings and problems you may be having.
Counseling can help you to understand your feelings and problems and learn how
to deal with these in your everyday life.
- In individual counseling, when you talk
with a therapist you get a chance to discuss anything that's on your mind. A
therapist will listen to you and not judge you.
- In group therapy you will have the
opportunity, under the guidance of a qualified therapist, to talk and share your
feelings and experiences in a safe environment with others who are experiencing
similar challenges. This type of therapy can help you see that you are not
alone, and can provide you with much-needed emotional support as you work
together towards resolving difficult issues you may be facing.
- Family therapy brings family members
together to solve their shared problems. It is based on the belief that families
are the single most powerful resource available to people trying to cope with
major emotional, medical, or social difficulties. By helping family members to
work together to find solutions to tough problems, family therapy has proven of
immense benefit to people at times of major life stress.

when parents are separated or divorced and one parent requests counseling for
their child, the counselor may require consent from both parents before the
child receives counseling.
